Healthy breakfast options – ideas to help

I’m often asked what I eat for breakfast so have put together a few options. It’s important to mix it up and try not to have the same thing every morning so you give your body a good variation. Think about the following 3 points when planning your breakfast.

Add fibre: Include whole grains, seeds, or vegetables to support digestion and gut health.

Balance macronutrients: Aim for a combination of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs to stabilise blood sugar.

Hydration matters: Start your day with a glass of water or herbal tea to rehydrate after sleep. If you wake up with a headache then always drink a glass of water before taking paracetamol etc because you could simply be dehydrated – especially if you sweat at night.

Eat slowly so you can break your food down as much as possible and start the digestive process with your saliva, which will help your gut. Try to sit and focus on your food rather than eating on the run. Digestions is much more productive if you’re sitting and focusing so your body can direct the blood to your digestive system rather than worrying about going somewhere else.
